They’ve led user acquisition for some of the world’s largest consumer internet brands since 2010, when the smartphone and app economy just started to gain traction. The founding team have been fortunate enough to have led UA campaigns at a strategic level with dozens of the world’s largest mobile brands from the likes of eBay to JustEat to Uber.
This breadth of experience gave Appsumer a wealth of knowledge on how to perfect user acquisition as well as the challenges.
Fragmentation and death by spreadsheet
The fragmentation of data was one of the first hurdles we faced, and one that marketers still face today. Effective user acquisition requires comprehensive performance analysis, however the fragmentation meant detailed reports could only be compiled once a week. Cost and revenue data came from different sources and labels tended to be inconsistent at the granularity desired. We could only dream of a day when the insights we wanted were available at the speed of light…

We set out on a mission to overcome these challenges and empower the in-house UA team. We found traditional analytics tools were overly complicated and not flexible enough to meet the needs of savvy UA teams and in-house engineers were always stretched too thin to maintain such a system. Our vision was to build the next generation system of intelligence. One which was comprehensive yet intuitive. A system that could be tweaked to fit each individual business but also be ready to plug and play.

7 years of user acquisition experience. Shumel has managed marketing for 40+ brands and executed campaigns across 30+ countries. This depth of experience coupled with his background in design and development (since the age of 15) gave him a unique recipe to build a solution which tackles a challenge faced by all modern-day performance marketers.
Sales leader with over 6 years experience in mobile UA. Coming from publisher side, Isabel is a gaming expert and has a deep understanding of the mobile media partner landscape. She’s assisted tonnes of UA teams in delivering ROI+ performance ad campaigns and has mastered the world of networking. If you don’t know her by now, you might be the only one in the industry.
Inga comes with 9 years of solid Marketing Experience, with a deep understanding of the complex intricacies of mobile attribution, analytics and ad fraud. Inga has led performance marketing for an abundance of diverse clients whilst working at 2 of the largest global mobile agencies.
Clement has over 10 years’ experience in the ad tech industry and therefore brings a wealth of app marketing knowledge and passion. Clement’s role at Appsumer is leading our overall product roadmap and accelerating the development of new features. He’s no stranger to high-growth SaaS platforms, previously building products and teams from the ground up in Paris.
Ross is an experienced commercial leader in both corporate and start-up digital and mobile marketing businesses. He’s big on strategy, on process and on action in search of results; not just commercial results but people development too. He constantly coaches his team at Appsumer to build their capabilities and confidence.
Simon is Appsumer’s newly appointed VP of marketing. He’s an experienced B2B marketer, specialised in growing SaaS companies globally at pace. He has solid experience raising the profile of high-growth European and US brands around the world, and plays a pivotal role in Appsumer’s future growth!
